Translate comics and read stories in a familiar language

Upload manga, translate dialogue in context, and automatically handle text outlines and Japanese speech bubbles. After translating an entire volume, you can read alongside the original or turn on autoplay to keep reading at your own pace.

Supports CBZ, CBR, and ZIP archives of comic images

Comic translation has a dedicated workflow

Dialogue in comics is spread across speech bubbles, narration boxes, and artwork. Comic translation processes text with these characteristics in mind, making it generally better suited to reading comics than using the PDF translation workflow directly.

Automatically outline translated text
Automatically add an outline when outputting text to make translations easier to read against comic backgrounds.
Analyze speech bubbles in Japanese comics
Process dialogue using speech-bubble analysis for Japanese manga to better align recognition and text output with manga pages.
A little cheaper than scanned PDFs
By default, comic translation is billed using a lower word count per page than scanned PDF translation, so translating the same scanned comic usually costs less. Actual costs depend on the quote for the file and the selected model.

For everyday comic reading, start with the basic model

For most everyday reading needs, the basic model is usually sufficient. Dialogue is analyzed in context during translation to help reduce unclear dialogue transitions and omissions of plot information.

The platform offers multiple AI models. You can preview the translation with the basic model first to assess whether the dialogue sounds natural and the plot is coherent, then decide whether to switch to another model.

Upload manga, select a model

Translate multiple comic volumes together

When translating multiple books or chapters, you can upload comic files in batches and set the language and model for all of them, reducing the repetitive work of submitting them individually.

After translating, read at your own pace

Use the comparison preview to view the original comic text and its translation, and refer to the corresponding panels when you want to check the dialogue.

With autoplay enabled, comics scroll or turn pages automatically. You can adjust the playback speed or pause at any time to take a closer look.

Is your comic a PDF? Convert it to CBZ before translating

If your PDF consists mainly of scanned comic pages, you can first convert it to CBZ, then upload it through the comic translation option to use comic-specific text processing and pricing.

  1. Export each page of the PDF as an image.

  2. Arrange images in reading order and package them into a CBZ file.

  3. Upload a CBZ file through the comic translation entry point, select a language and model, and view the preview and quote.

This workflow is suitable for primarily image-based comics. For text-based PDFs, academic papers, or office documents, you can still use PDF translation.

Flip through a few pages first to check out the dialogue and artwork

Upload a comic and start with the base model to see a preview and price quote. Once you confirm the results, continue translating and reading.
